Bearing housing of higher quality
We have made an improved version of the skid plate holder and its ball bearings for many older machines that were manufactured between 2003-2015.
It is not uncommon for the threads to go bad in these, and the original part does not have a seal between the skid plate and the bearing housing, but we have now solved that!
We replaced the plastic threads with brass insert threads to extend the life of the threads.
To get a longer life on the ball bearings, we made room for the same o-ring that is on the later bearing housing that replaced this model on newer machines. We have experienced that moisture often creeps in over the skid plate so that the ball bearings rust, and this o-ring solves that problem.
Assembly of bearings
When mounting ball bearings in the bearing housing, a ball bearing will protrude 1mm outside the bearing holder, do not try to press in the bearings longer than that. Also remember not to press on the inner bearing track of the ball bearing so that you do not damage the ball bearings.
