Description
Improved wiring to the charging plate and for the inside of the chassis that fits early Husqvarna Automower 420, 430X, 440, 450X, 520 and 550. The 440, 450X and 550 have the most problems with this as they have the highest charging current, but it can also affect smaller machines.
This wiring sometimes has problems with overheating in the connector to the chassis and then causes charging problems. Sometimes the charging works and sometimes it doesn't and can give an error code for a charging system error or not charging at all. Sometimes the connector to the main circuit board or the charging station board is also damaged. It may be worth checking.
To avoid this, the connector that most often goes bad in this wiring has been replaced with a connector that can handle significantly higher current than the original.
Often when you get an error code you can think that the batteries are starting to go bad, but this problem is more common in my experience.
The battery only needs to be replaced when the machine cannot find its way home after checking that the guide cables are intact. Not in the event of a charging system problem.
If you have a 440, 450X or 550, this can be a good way to prevent and replace it before problems arise. See pictures of how bad it can look.
